The report says that due to the Russian Federation’s large-scale military aggression against Ukraine, the damage caused to the environment has become catastrophic, and its combination with other types of anthropogenic activity and climate change produces synergistic effect, which in the long term can lead to significant negative economic, social, and environmental consequences. The relevance and importance of conducting research for the development of methods for assessing the damage caused to natural ecosystems during the war, as well as the restoration and preservation of natural ecosystems, is emphasized.
