The founder of the first major mathematical school in Ukraine

On September 6, 2023, scientific community celebrated the 160th anniversary of Dmytro Grave who is the first Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in the field of mathematics, the founder of the first major mathematical school in Ukraine, the first director of the Institute of Mathematics of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, the founder of the first mathematical journal in Ukraine, and an outstanding organizer of higher education. His prominent results in mathematics, mechanics, mathematical physics are known and recognized worldwide. He stood at the origin of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, established numerous research and educational institutions, scientific societies, departments of mathematics and mechanics. This memorial paper is dedicated to Academician Grave – Scientist, Teacher, and Great Man.
