Plastic welding: The present and the future

Abstract

The report is devoted to research and developments of the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the NAS of Ukraine in the field of connection of polymeric materials and products from them. The main results of fundamental and applied research on the creation of a scientific theory of the mechanism of welding of polymers and the nature of their welded joints, the development of innovative technologies for polymeric materials welding and equipment for their implementation are given. These works are relevant for the further development of polymer materials science in Ukraine, and their results are already widely used in domestic industrial enterprises.
