SPACE MISSIONS TO COMETARY NUCLEI — CLUE TO ORIGIN OF SOLAR SYSTEM

Abstract: 2014 year in the history of science will be as year of the space mission Rosetta main target which is icy nucleus of the periodic comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, discovered by Ukrainian astronomers Klim Churyumov and S. Gerasimenko in 1969. In the article one of discoverers of the comet writes about important role of the cometary researches for the development of science. In chronology order are considered former space missions sent for study of nuclei of periodic comets. Particular attention devoted to the mission Rosetta, in the frame of which are planned unique experiment with landing of special module on icy cometary nucleus for deep study of physical and chemical properties of the relict matter from which is formed Solar system and life appeared on the Earth.
Keywords: cometary nuclei, clue to origin of Solar system, mission Rosetta.
