In the article, the author analyzes the official interpretations of the 100th anniversary of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921, outlines current approaches to the problem of the theory of revolutions, addresses Ukrainian contemporary revolutionary realities from the point of view of their lessons that have not received critical reflection and have not been taken into account in the needs and challenges of today. In particular, in the issues of protecting the statehood with its force component, understanding the territorial specificities of Ukraine, such as the Crimea and the Donbas, the constitution and organization of effective government, the need to project the positivity of the Ukrainian Revolution of the early twentieth century on the formation of a modern nation and the rise of modern Ukraine.
