UKRAINE IN GLOBAL DIMENSIONS OF THE MODERN WORLD
Speech at the International Forum “Dawn of Europe: Historical Pattern of a Civilizational Choice”

On June 22, 2017, the III Baltic-Black Sea Forum “Dawn of Europe: Historical Pattern of Civilizational Progress”, was held in Kyiv, devoted to discussing security problems in the region and in Europe as a whole, the search for new forms of good-neighborly responsible cooperation and the formation of a new Europe on a basis without wars and annexation, the need to overcome aggression and intolerance in the modern world, the urgency of developing new methods of training a modern European person through education, science and culture. The forum was attended by presidents and statesmen of the Baltic-Black Sea region, scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, rectors of the leading Ukrainian and European universities, public figures and media representatives. We offer the full text of the speech of the first vice president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of NAS of Ukraine V.P. Gorbulin, who shared his thoughts about the strategic priorities of our state in the context of the new threats faced by the civilized world today, with particular emphasis on those opportunities that are being opened up to Ukraine today.
